Come join us on November 15, 2009 for a home made chili dinner and an evening of fellowship and spiritual growth with your brothers at Family in Christ. We will be starting a new spiritual growth series for 2009—2010, titled “Dare to be Uncommon: Discovering How to Impact Your World, Men’s Bible Study”, by Tony Dungy. Do you want your life to be Uncommon? Do you want to be known for flashes of goodness and great moments, or as a man of character and integrity in all circumstances? God’s desire is to give meaning and purpose to your life by giving you dreams and goals that only you can accomplish. But every day you’re fed messages, expectations, and images that push you to live a life other than the one God has planned for you. How can you counteract those messages? How can you maintain your character, in all parts of your life? Let Super Bowl-Winning Coach Tony Dungy be your coach as you walk together through these questions and more. For more information see www.coachdungy.com.
Current Areas of Focus:
- Fellowship and Activities—Developing lasting friendships, find a shoulder to lean on through difficult times and enjoy fellowship through sports and other activities. Let’s discuss some activities and plan a few things for the fall. Possibly a hike that everyone can enjoy and participate in during October.
- Spiritual Growth—Attend the new fall/winter series “The Quest for Authentic Manhood” with Robert Lewis, starting in October. Attend the Saturday Morning Men’s Bible Study. Help us develop other spiritual growth activities that will strengthen our faith and help us grow spiritually in Jesus Christ.
- Serving Others—Participate in Service activities to help at Family in Christ and outside of our church with home repair, fellowship, etc. Help the elderly, those in financial need, single moms, handicapped and anyone in Family in Christ that needs assistance from time to time. Projects can consist of lawn mowing, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, assistance with computers, etc. Add your name and skill to the skills database.
