ONE-YEAR BIBLE CHALLENGE

“One of these days I’m going to read through the Bible from beginning to end.” I’ve heard and said this statement countless times. Maybe you have as well. Whether you are new to the Bible or you have been reading it for a long time, there is a great opportunity for you to read through the Bible in 2009.

This year, beginning January 1st, we invite you to join us in reading the Bible together here at Family in Christ. There are great benefits to reading the Bible as a community. We can participate in the shared experience as a body and be encouraged as we faithfully read through God’s Word together. Also, with friends and small groups, we can learn and be challenged from each other by sharing what God has shown to us in our reading. Consider joining us as we seek to know and serve God more by corporately reading through the Bible throughout 2009.

We want to encourage the entire church to participate in as many ways possible. Here are several ways you can get involved with us as we read through the Bible in 2009.

• Read the Bible passages corresponding to the schedule of the One-Year Bible. The reading schedule will also be available weekly as an insert in the bulletin. You may also visit here and click on the appropriate week below to get the weekly schedule.
• As you read, spend some time each day/week interacting with the information and questions also found with the reading schedule each week.
• Sign up to be a part of a six week One-Year Bible discussion group. These groups are specially designed to dig deeper in the weekly reading, no matter what your previous Biblical knowledge. Each group lasts only six weeks, so give one a try (see times below).
• Share your questions or insights God has shown you with friends and other small group members. This is one benefit of everyone reading the same passages at the same time.

We are very excited about reading the Bible together in 2009. In an effort to be more intentional with our church-wide reading of the Bible, Family in Christ has invited Phil Christie, a recent graduate of Denver Seminary, to orchestrate the One-Year Bible campaign. Phil and his wife Stephanie live here in Westminster and are happy to call Family in Christ their new church home. Please make them feel welcome and take the opportunity to introduce yourself. This is going to be a great year. We anticipate being blessed with numerous testimonies of how God has worked in many lives, as a result of reading His Word throughout 2009. Come and join us as we seek Him in
