You may have seen the “attractive” pink flamingos outside our church building. Each of these “Birds of Pray” have been named after someone special in the Scriptures. If you have shared an especially painful prayer need, you may find one of these birds in your yard (called being “pinked”) to reassure you, or someone you love is being prayed for! Your home may be in their “flight plan” next! All we ask is that when you have been blessed by these birds, that you return them to their flock at the church so that they can go out and bless others.
Prayer Requests You can submit a prayer request by one of the following ways:
- Prayer request slips that can be found in our fellowship books in the sanctuary can be filled out and dropped in the offering plate or put in our wooden prayer box located in the lobby.
- You can leave a voice message on our prayer line by calling (303) 466-7770 and selecting option 3.
- You can send an e-mail through our website at any “Prayer Requests” link.
- Call the church office at (303) 466-7770 during office hours and speak with Pastor Paul.
- Our Prayer Room at the church will have Prayer Team members available for you if you need one-on-one prayer before and after services each Sunday.
Prayer Team/Prayer Chain Our Prayer Team is a dedicated group of people whose mission is to provide prayer support for our church family in a variety of ways as well as intercessory prayer for you. Our Prayer Chain consists of members whose sole responsibility is to offer intercessory prayer for you. Confidentiality of each request is very important and each prayer team/prayer chain member’s responsibility is to uphold this commitment. We are here for you to help you when you are feeling spiritually lost or at the end of your rope.
The Power of Prayer It seems one of our strongest connection to God comes at our weakest moments—when we are on our knees in prayer. We are a praying church and we pray during each service for Pastor Paul, the Praise Team, and all our Saturday/Sunday ministries. We pray that God would be glorified, that Christ would enter your life and dwell in your heart, and that the Holy Spirit might lift and lead you to a closer relationship with God and with your very special family here at Family in Christ.
Join the Team There are several ways to participate:
- Are you willing to lift our worship service, leaders and volunteers in prayer one Saturday or Sunday service a month. On the day that you choose you will be in a deliberate attitude of prayer as your prepare to come to church. It is so reassuring for our leaders and volunteers to know someone is committed to praying for them as they serve all of us.
- Prayer Room coverage before and after worship services weekly for those in need of a listening ear and prayer.
- Are you an intercessory pray-er? Would you want to be a part of the e-mail prayer chain? We take our weekly prayer requests seriously and need individuals who feel called to lift the needs of others in prayer. You will be required to pledge to maintain confidentiality on all requests.
- Congregational Prayer during our worship services. If you would like to lead our congregation in prayer during our weekend services, please contact Tony N. Schenk, Associate Pastor of Worship at
(303) 466-7770, ext. 204.
- We are also looking for ways to further put the power of prayer into reality.
Prayer is as simple as having a conversation with your best friend. Just talk to Him. God can and will use YOU! Consider stretching yourself by expanding your involvement in the prayer life of Family in Christ. If you have any questions or are interested in joining the team, please contact JoAnn Hutchcraft.
