Paul Jorden – Pastor
Pastor Paul Jorden and his family moved to Westminster early 1997 from Fort Collins where Paul had pastored a church since 1982. Paul says, “Whether we fully know it or not, each of us in life is on a spiritual journey. It is a thrill to be part of a church where we can help people take the next step of growing in Christ while celebrating the uniqueness of each step along the way.”

Paul majored in biology and geology at Western Michigan University, earned a master’s of divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a doctor of ministry from Denver Seminary.

Paul and his wife Judy have been married 28 years and have two grown children. They began their lives together ministering to youth and college students in Youth for Christ. Paul is an avid birder and hiker.

Tony N. Schenk – Associate Pastor of Worship
Tony and his wife Angela were married in 1999 and have a beautiful daughter named Mya Lynn, born March 28, 2007. They have enjoyed being partners in ministry throughout their marriage. Tony has been a part of Family in Christ since 1997 were he led our worship until mid 2004. Throughout that time he also served us by leading a purpose-driven student ministry. During 2004 until November of 2005, Tony was the Student Ministries Pastor at Crossroads Baptist Church where he recruited and utilized a large staff of volunteers, planned and executed a well-rounded Biblically based student ministry program for 150+ students. Tony returned to Family in Christ in November 2005 as our Associate Pastor of Worship after feeling a call from God to use his gifts, talents, and leadership in the planning, visioning, and strategy of the total worship experience. Tony has a worshiper’s heart, and desires to live out his passion for worship through humility and servant leadership. He also desires to lead others in authentic praise and worship with the intent of growing closer to God and His will for his and their life.

Tony is a graduate of Denver Christian High School. He has a certificate in Christian Leadership from Capernwray Bible School in Tauernhof, Austria, and has been attending Denver Leadership Development Institute in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. In 2002 he released his own Christian Music CD “Step Out In Faith” and will soon release a new Worship CD which he has been in the studio recording for the past year.

Judy Jorden – Director of Adult Education
As Director of Adult Education, Judy Jorden’s desire is to see adult members have every opportunity to develop a dynamic relationship with God and others through small groups and classes. She believes one of the best ways to thrive as we journey through our Christian walk is by growing in knowledge and having the loving support of others.

Judy has a Masters Degree in Adult Education, Counseling and Career Development from Colorado State University. She enjoys helping adults discover their gifts and passions, and join or create a ministry that energizes them.

Carrie Evans – Director of Student Ministries
Carrie Evans has a passion for using her life’s adventures and thoughts to reach teens and connect them to Christ and the Bible. She loves using creative lighting, objects, movie clips, computer tools, and music to more effectively engage youth. In addition to the scheduled time, she enjoys just hanging out with teens and getting to know them on a more personal level. She and her husband Harley both felt a strong calling to become members of Family in Christ and minister to their youth in May of 2006. She feels so blessed to be a part of their team of volunteers embracing and enriching the youth programs. Prior to Family in Christ, she served as the Youth Director for 2 years and as the Junior High Sunday School teacher for 4 years at King of King’s Church. At that location she created a new worship service for the youth, began an outreach program for a neighboring High School, developed a disciple emphasize for lock ins, utilized small groups, attended several youth and leadership training conferences, and participated in a youth missions trip.

Outside of youth ministry, Carrie is proud of being most known as “the mother of the twins”. These sweet, inquisitive, and rambunctious identical twin girls make sure there is never a dull moment in the household and almost daily provide inspiration for youth lessons. Other sources of lessons come from the 5 years she worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the Aerospace Industry. Carrie graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Prior to attending CU, she gained valuable insights from living in various locations the Air Force sent her father and the family.

Sheila Shea – Director of Children’s Ministries
Sheila’s desire is to pass on her passion for children to other adults and youth and train them to bring up children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.” Her goal would be to have all children under her care come to a saving knowledge of Christ. She also wants to help parents with the spiritual guidance of their children during these formative years and make Christian education a priority.

Sheila Shea is a graduate of St. John College of Cleveland. She has 37 years experience working in children’s ministries. She taught at Faith Christian Academy since 1992 and is on the board of Child Evangelism Fellowship.

Mickey Shea – Facility Manager
Mickey has been involved in the planning of our new facility since its inception. His personal involvement during the construction of the building led him to his present job as Facility Manager. He is responsible for all aspects of the maintenance and care of the building and property. He also trains the media presentation team. Mickey is a Marine Corps combat veteran with an Associate degree in aviation technology and 1,100 hours in single and multi engine aircraft. He retired from United Airlines after 34 years. He has been married to his lovely wife, Sheila, for 37 years. They have 2 children and a new grandson.

Carmen Braaksma – Office Manager
Carmen joined the staff in July of 2003. She is a native of Colorado, born in Leadville and grew up in North Denver. She has been in administrative support positions since she graduated in 1979 from North High School. Carmen and her husband Ron have been married for 16 years. They have no children but consider their little dog Pebbles to be just as special as a child. Carmen enjoys doing all kinds of crafts from woodworking to scrapbooking.
