Together

Our youth group continually aims to create an atmosphere that fosters and teaches respect. Students will appreciate being respected by fellow peers as well as by leaders. Leaders and fellow peers also value this respect shown back to them. Additionally, youth will learn about respecting God and His will for their lives.

Do you want to be CONNECTED to something that creates BONDS FOR A LIFETIME and allows you to make a REAL DIFFERENCE?

If you answered yes to the above question, then you should join the youth group here at Family in Christ Church. We are a family within our church family. We work hard to create an atmosphere of love and acceptance no matter what “clique” you may be in or what you may have been through in the past. You’ll find fellow students and adults who would love to get to know you and care for you as individuals. We foster heavy participation by the youth members in all we do and you will find yourself making a real difference whether it be acting in a skit, playing in the band, creating a game, sharing your faith with others, teaching a lesson, helping run our audio/visual equipment, or mentoring a younger student.

High Voltage (Middle School) meets at 10:00am Sunday mornings in the Student Ministries room and will continue to meet Wednesday nights at 7:00pm. Livewire (High School) attends worship service in the sanctuary together on Sunday mornings at 10:00am (on the right side of the sanctuary). We meet regularly from 7:00-8:15pm on Thursday nights with live music. We will also have a small group opportunity at the Kurtzberg’s home on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm.

Do You Love Music?

We do too!

We love incorporating music into our Sunday morning nd Wednesday night activities. We have our own youth band and an swesome sound and projection system right in our very own youth room. If you play an instrument, sing, or are interested in helping out with the sound equipment let us know.

The Journey

  1. Do you know where you’re going in life?
  2. How about after death?
  3. Are you sure you know how to get there?

One of the main missions of our youth group is to help you confidently answer the above questions. What about the unexpected stops along the journey? How do we deal with the really hard and painful stuff we see ourselves and other going through? We’ll help yu get through that too. Although it may seem hard to believe all the answers you are looking for really can be found in the Bible, we’ll help you learn about the real truths and promises God has made. For example “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”—John 3:17. The journey may not be easy, but we’re with you every step of the way.

Hangin’

With Your

 Friends

One of the best parts of youth group at Family in Christ is making connections with each other and enjoying the incredible friendships formed. One of the ways we make sure we have plenty of time to connect with each other is by having a Friday night hangout time called TGIF that is held here at the church every second and last Friday of each month. On this night we watch movies, catch up with each other, and play games, air hockey, ping pong, foosball, and darts. We also encourage you to bring friends with you. They are always welcome, and we’d love to meet them.

Aside from our weekly activities, we also do several other activities and events throughout the year. Some examples would be a real life Fear Factor experience, a late night talk show encounter, and “Who Wants to Win $20?” with real cash prizes. Some nights we go out to do an activity such as laser tag, bowling, etc., or we might stay in for an all night slee over at the church. Our Winter Retreat is coming soon and is always memorable and often life transforming. We also attend some amazing Christian concerts and youth conferences. Whatever the event is, these times are sure to be memorable and fun, some might even say wild.

This summer we are planning an invaluable week long mission trip. This week will allow for helping others, and learning about their needs and hardships. Mission trips are often described as life changing, and we expect ours will be as well. We will also incorporate service activities throughout the year. Some examples of these would be washing cars, cleaning yards, doing work at the church, and serving dinner at the Ronald McDonald House.
