Carrie Evans
Student Ministries Pastor
Carrie Evans has a passion for using her life’s adventures and thoughts to reach teens and connect them to Christ and the Bible. She loves using creative lighting, objects, movie clips, computer tools, and music to more effectively engage youth. In addition to the scheduled time, she enjoys just hanging out with teens and getting to know them on a more personal level. She and her husband Harley both felt a strong calling to become members of Family in Christ and minister to their youth in May of 2006. She feels so blessed to be a part of their team of volunteers embracing and enriching the youth programs.
Outside of youth ministry, Carrie is proud of being most known as “the mother of the twins”. These sweet, inquisitive, and rambunctious identical twin girls make sure there is never a dull moment in the household and almost daily provide inspiration for youth lessons. Other sources of lessons come from the 5 years she worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the Aerospace Industry. Carrie graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Prior to attending CU, she gained valuable insights from living in various locations the Air Force sent her father and the family.
Wes Jones
Student Ministries Leader
Wes is a 2016 graduate from Colorado Christian University. His love and passion for children and youth drove him to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in elementary education. However, as the Lord led him through his degree it became clear that he is currently called to work with youth in a different way. For the last six years he has been a part of LIFT Student Ministries. He was a member of this youth group, but as a senior in high school he became a volunteer youth leader at LIFT. Whether he was a student or leader, Wes has loved every second of it. The youth give him an exuberant spirit and energy. He loves leading youth toward Christ in any way possible whether it is through crazy and fun games, small group discussion, Bible studies, mission work, or sharing experiences he has had. His desire is to impact every student he encounters, because his life was so impacted by his youth leaders as a teenager. Wes’ ultimate goal is for Christ to be glorified and known in this next generation, and he prays God will use him in whatever way possible to make that happen. Finally, Wes’ biggest joys in life come from serving others for Christ, playing and watching any sports, spending time with friends and family, playing board games, and being outside in God’s marvelous creation!

Morgan Kellum
Director of Life Group Ministries
Morgan joined the church staff in June 2015 to oversee the Life Group Ministry. Her desire is for those attending Family in Christ to be a part of a small group community, staying connected and growing in their relationship with Jesus alongside other believers. In a church this size, it is easy to become ‘lost in the crowd’ and Life Groups can counteract that by helping our big church to grow smaller.
Morgan and Brett were college sweethearts and married in 1998. They have four school-aged children and when they aren’t running their brood hither and yon for activities, they enjoy hosting friends and family in their home and connecting over a meal.
