Fearless High School and Middle School Leader

Carrie Evans has a passion for using her life’s adventures and thoughts to reach teens and connect them to Christ and the Bible. She loves using creative lighting, objects, movie clips, computer tools, and music to more effectively engage youth. In addition to the scheduled time, she enjoys just hanging out with teens and getting to know them on a more personal level. She and her husband Harley both felt a strong calling to become members of Family in Christ and minister to their youth in May of 2006. She feels so blessed to be a part of their team of volunteers embracing and enriching the youth programs. Prior to Family in Christ, she served as the Youth Director for 2 years and as the Junior High Sunday School teacher for 4 years at King of King’s Church. At that location she created a new worship service for the youth, began an outreach program for a neighboring High School, developed a disciple emphasize for lock ins, utilized small groups, attended several youth and leadership training conferences, and participated in a youth missions trip.

Outside of youth ministry, Carrie is proud of being most known as “the mother of the twins”. These sweet, inquisitive, and rambunctious identical twin girls make sure there is never a dull moment in the household and almost daily provide inspiration for youth lessons. Other sources of lessons come from the 5 years she worked as a Mechanical Engineer in the Aerospace Industry. Carrie graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Prior to attending CU, she gained valuable insights from living in various locations the Air Force sent her father and the family.

10:30am Sunday Bible Study Leader
and Redeemed (10 - 12th) Team Leader

When I was in high school...I WAS A DORK...and my youth leaders poured their hearts into me. When I got out of college...I WAS STILL A DORK...andI started to try to do the same for others. (pooring my heart into other...NOT being a dork!)  I've been working with teens for 16 years. My goal is to share Christ with them, help them understand that God created them special with a purpose, and to encourage them to share that with their fiends. No generation of kids needed to know God loves them more than this one.

9am Sunday Bible Study Leader

and Revive (6th - 7th) Team Leader

Hi, I am Mary Boggs. The kids call me Ms Mary. I have been ministering to young girls and youth for nine years now.  I have three of my own 10, 12 and soon to be 14. So, I really do not like kids especially teenagers, ha-ha! No really, God has put it in my heart to be a youth leader and I have been honored and blessed every day by following God’s will.  I truly find the joy in getting to know our teens.  They all offer something wonderful and it is my goal to help them each find out what that is. I thank the parents and families for sharing them. I find inspiration in the verse from Ephesians 3:20 “God can do anything, you know--far more than you can Imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams!” (The Message)

Aaron was raised by wolves somewhere deep within the Colorado mountains, but don't worry, he has been mostly housebroken. Since wondering out of the wilderness, Aaron has enjoyed many adventures, such as working as a seeing eye dog for blind pilots in the United States Air Force. He spent time stationed in such dangerous locations as Texas and North Carolina. As Aaron has become slightly more civilized, he has come to enjoy some of the finer things in life, such as Mountain Dew, pizza, and very loud music. He has combined his passion for these three things into a love of working with Middle School and High School students. Aaron claims that he desires to share his life lessons and passion for worship with the students, but we all know secretly he is there for the free food and music. Aaron currently attends Colorado Christian University where he is studying Underwater Basket Weaving with a minor in Theology. He hopes to someday use this education to minister to the people of the lost city of Atlantis and teach them the amazing awesomeness of God, and what it means to worship Him.

Who am I??  Well currently, I am a 19-year-old student at Front Range Community College. It is my second year and I am working on my pre reqs to Nursing and American Sign Language-Interpreter Prep Program.  What has made me into the person I am today??  In short, I have struggled with depression and a few other issues since freshman year of High School.  My father passed away from cancer when I was 17 and in my Sr. year of HS.  My mom had cancer during my Jr. Year.  Mom’s cancer is gone and she is doing well.  Now why do you want to be a Nurse and ASL Interpreter??  I am going into Nursing; more specifically Oncology Nursing because of my experience with my parents.  Sign Language has always caught my attention. So many people are fluent in foreign languages, but you rarely hear about someone who is an ASL interpreter.  I also want to use my interpreting abilities as a ministry so deaf teens can come to youth group. I have been through a lot as a teen and I want to be there to help other teens get through what they are dealing with.   I want to help the teens at Livewire/High voltage have a sense of stability with their youth group.  It is my goal to assist Livewire/High voltage in being the friendliest place in Westminster on a Wednesday night!!!
