Reaching a New Generation

THE NEXT CHAPTER is a stewardship ministry that seeks to encourage all in our congregation to seek God’s will for their lives through teaching, study, devotions, and prayer. The goal of this effort is a deeper spiritual commitment to be fully devoted followers of Christ, and to be excellent stewards of our entire lives, including our time, talents, and treasures.

We have been witness to God’s remarkable blessing to our church and our ministries over the years, with a threefold increase in the size of our congregation, and a doubling of our ministries. This growth has created challenges for teaching and fellowship spaces, and revealed other needs that require improvement.

To achieve our vision for continued spiritual growth and outreach, we studied our situation and sought input from every constituency in our congregation. Undergirded by prayer, this process concluded after about eighteen months with our leaders recommending that we take another giant step of faith in the form of a Phase 2 Building Expansion.

Our planned expansion would more than double the number of available classrooms for children, students, and adults. Several of our ministries require larger meeting spaces than we can currently offer (ALPHA, The Marriage Course, MOPS, Cadets, and Gems) and the new addition creates larger fellowship spaces that will offer great flexibility for their utilization. A number of other needed improvements are part of this plan.

The preliminary cost of this expansion is approximately $2,900,000. We hope to raise two thirds of this cost through a three-year capital stewardship campaign, and anticipate that the balance can be added to our long term mortgage on the church.
