Come, live in the wake of the Cross!

“We are an Easter people and Alleluia is our hymn of praise!” Do you know who said this? Never mind who said it, with the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His victory over death complete do you sense the magnitude of this great proclamation? “We are Easter people and Alleluia is our hymn of praise.” If we say “Yes, Yes and Alleluia,” then we must actually live like Easter makes a difference. If we say no that is a great sadness, for we concede that Easter does not matter.
That is what St. Augustine was preaching in his famous Easter Sunday sermon when he said, “We are an
Easter people and Alleluia is our hymn of praise!”

In these next eight weeks, we’re going to explore the ramifications of the resurrection for those whose song
is “Alleluia Jesus!” We are going to highlight the refracting light of the Gospel by enjoying the ramifications
of Christ’s resurrection.
