Who We Are

The Bible says God’s family is made up of people from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages. At any given weekend service, all kinds of families are worshipping with us—single people and college students, young couples (some married, some dating, some engaged and some living together), blended families, single moms and single dads, people who have been married once and people who have had multiple marriages, people raising his kids, her kids and their kids along with senior adults, widows and widowers. We are a Family of families.
Our purpose is to help all kinds of families, in all kinds of situations, discover God’s design. We want to help them dive deeply into the gospel of Jesus so that they can discover and pursue God’s design from wherever they are.

…In Christ…

The Apostle Paul tells us that “if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation, the old has passed away, the new has come.” (2 Cor. 5:17) Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus, we who believe have become part of a whole new way of doing life. No longer defined by our past sins and failures, we now join God in doing his work in his world.

Our community of believers comes from all walks of faith. We believe our community is a place where everyone should be known and loved. It suggests both genuine fellowship within our church family and an open door to those around us. No matter where you are or where you’ve been, there’s a place for you here at Family in Christ.
As a light in our community, we’re a place of peace for those in chaos, a place of forgiveness for the guilty, and a place of hope for the hopeless.
We believe God intended each of us to experience authentic community and spiritual direction from others in our spiritual family. God uses the Body of Christ to grow us and move us into His image.

Our church is a group of people. It is not our building; and it is for everyone. And it doesn’t grant salvation; it is people, loving and glorifying God and teaching others about a saving knowledge of Christ. We celebrate the strengths of different traditions while holding tightly to our belief in the Bible as God’s Word and the Apostles’ Creed. As believers, we are joined with all Christians from Peter to the smallest child in the body of Christ. Our church is where the members can apply 1 Thessalonians 5: 11: encouraging, teaching, and building one another up in the knowledge and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are affiliated with the Christian Reformed Denomination. www.crcna.org
