WHO IS LIFT?
LIFT Student Ministries at Family in Christ Church is a fun, welcoming youth group for students in 6th–12th grade. We’re a place where students can build real friendships, enjoy fun activities, feel safe, and explore what it means to follow Jesus together.
We know the teen years can be challenging, so we strive to create a space full of kindness, encouragement, and honesty. Our overall goal is to be a ministry where students feel seen and supported. Whether your child is curious about faith or already committed to growing in it, there’s a place for them here.
WHY THE NAME “LIFT”?
Our name comes from our desire to lift God up—and to lift one another up. In Mark 12, Jesus teaches us to love God and love others. That’s what we aim to do every week at LIFT.
OUR MISSION & VISION
We take inspiration from the words of Jesus in Matthew 28, known as the Great Commission.
Mission: Our mission is to encourage teenagers to know Jesus and to know they are never alone, because they have a LIFT community standing with them in faith and friendship.
Vision: To help students grow in their faith and encourage others to do the same. In short, we want to raise up students who follow Jesus and help others do the same. (We call this making disciples, which simply means being someone who believes in Jesus and lives out that belief in daily life.)
Weekly Events
YOUTH GROUP
When: Sunday Evening
What Time: 4:00- 6:00
Where: Family In Christ (excluding Uplift Nights)
Our weekly Youth Group gatherings are designed to be a fun, safe, and meaningful space for students to grow in their faith and build lasting friendships. Each week includes:
Games – Engaging and energetic activities that help break the ice and bring everyone together.
Worship – A time to focus on God through music and singing, helping students experience His presence in a real way.
Teaching –Each week, we share a short, Bible-based message that speaks to the real-life issues students face, helping them understand who God is and how faith matters in their everyday lives. Biblically based messages that are relevant to the lives of students and help them grow in their faith.
Small Groups – Small group conversations that allow students to ask questions, share their thoughts, and apply what they’ve learned in a personal way.
And More! – Special events, service projects, themed nights, snacks, and spontaneous fun that keeps things fresh and exciting each week!
Disciple Day
When: Wednesday Night
What Time: 6:00 - 7:30
Where: Family In Christ
We believe that experiencing Jesus just once a week isn’t enough. That’s why we created Disciple Day—a more intimate setting where kids can go deeper into Scripture and explore what the Bible says about every aspect of life. In this space, students read Scripture together, reflect on its meaning, and challenge one another to apply it to their daily lives.
Uplift Nights
Uplift Nights are all about fun, friendship, and making memories together!
These events are the perfect chance for students to invite friends, unwind, and enjoy meaningful connection. Whether we’re bowling, skating, or hosting a movie night, Uplift Nights give kids a chance to relax, have fun, and be reminded that they’re not alone—we’re here for them.
