Summer Serve Day 2023
Sunday, August 6th
On Sunday August 6th, instead of our regular worship service, Family in Christ will reach beyond the church building walls to serve our friends, neighbors, and community. Family in Christ has built relationships with local partners in our community, and these are the places and people we are serving this Summer Serve Day.
We have opportunities for all ages and abilities. Scroll through the list below and find one that fits you and your people!

Chadash
Each year, one of our local partners, Chadash Dance tells a thought-provoking and redemptive story to our community through the visual arts and dance at the Broomfield Auditorium.
One way to be involved is to simply invite a neighbor or co-worker and enjoy the show.
Another is to help feed the cast for one of their daily Family Dinners. Can you make or provide a hearty meal for 20 people?

Jesus on Colfax
Join Pastor Mike and other leaders as we help to encourage both those who lead the Jesus on Colfax ministry and those they serve by establishing positive relationships within their ministry region. We’ll likely be sitting with the lonely, serving the needs of others, and ministering according to the spirit.
Once registered, you’ll receive more details as they become available.
We will meet at FIC at 9am on Sunday, August 6th (likely to return mid-afternoon) and Carpool to JOC ministry area in downtown Denver

Card Ministry
Join us in the simple, yet powerful act of sending a handmade, handwritten card of love and encouragement.
We’ll meet at FIC on Sunday, August 6th from 10:00-11:30 am to write them together.

Prayer Walk
On August 6th at 9 a.m. as a part of our summer serve day, we will gather for an intentional prayer walk.
A prayer walk is a powerful way for believers to step out in faith and cover the community around Family In Christ in powerful, specific, and strategic prayer.

Sunrise of Westminster:
Worship Service
Did you know that some of the residents of Sunrise of Westminster join us each Sunday online for church? Help us reverse that role as we will take a live worship service to them so that we can praise God together.
For most, just sit next to someone new, ask them a few questions, and join them in worship!

Random Act of Kindness
For those of you who may be traveling during this weekend, and for our Online Worship Community, we have some ideas for you as well!
Sign up for this event and simply complete one of the ideas below, or create your own random act of kindness to love your neighbors! Meet a need… build a relationship!
- Bake, make a dessert, or make a meal for a neighbor, or someone in need.
- Plan an event with a neighbor: hiking, a meal out, a movie, a concert (Chadash?), a museum, etc.
- Mow your neighbors lawn! (Maybe just the front!)
